MEDAK Constitution provides for membership to be made up of:
These are voting Members whose primary business is the design, manufacture, importation, exportation, marketing, sale, application, use, wholesaler and/or other application of Medical Technology.
For purposes of registration and annual subscriptions, members are categorized as microenterprises, medium enterprises and macro enterprises.
These are non-voting Members who do not qualify as ordinary Members but trade with and/or provide services to the Medical Technology Industry.
MEDAK is open to associate organizations that would wish to join the industry association.
These are voting Members who do not qualify as ordinary Members or associate members but have some overlapping objectives and interests to those of ordinary members within the Medical Technology Industry or relating to Medical Technology
MEDAK is open to associate organizations that would wish to join the industry association.
3.To promote innovation and better patient outcomes.
4.To effectively represent the interests of the Members with all relevant authorities, whether public or private.
5.To advance the harmonisation of the standards and regulatory requirements applicable to Medical Technology and the Medical Technology Industry.
These are natural persons who are non-voting, non-Board Member or Association Member who, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, have rendered exceptionally valuable or exemplary services to the Association or the Medical Technology Industry and have been granted honorary membership by the EC and who may attend meetings of Members, but not be entitled to vote but may receive general communications and may be invited to the Association’s activities and functions. Honorary members shall be eligible for nomination to the Advisory Board.
MEDAK is open to associate organizations that would wish to join the industry association.
MEDAK invites all medical devices industry players to join the trade association which will represent medical devices industry stakeholders in Kenya before the authorities.
-Promote and safeguard the common interests of the Members, including interests relating to the design, manufacture, importation, exportation, marketing, distribution and sale (retail and wholesale), application, use and/or other application of medical devices and medical or healthcare technology, the regulation of any aspect of the aforegoing and/or in relation to the industry in which the Members operate;
- Encourage the adoption and implementation by the Members of ethical principles and practices in the conduct of their businesses and affairs;
- Promote innovation and better patient outcomes;
- Represent the interests of the Members with all relevant authorities, whether public or private;
- Advance the harmonisation of the standards and regulatory requirements applicable to Medical Technology and the Medical Technology Industry;
